Changes in CUET UG 2025 : exam mode, time, Reduced Subjects : The University Grants Commission (UGC) has made some key changes in the Common University Entrance Test undergraduate exam. NTA conducts the Common University Entrance Test every year for admission to UG courses in Central Universities and other educational institutions across the country. UGC has announced some proposals for conducting the CUET exam this year, which have been reviewed by an expert committee.
Major Key Changes in CUET UG 2025
Exam Mode : Last year, the CUET UG exam was conducted in a hybrid model. The 15 subjects that received the most applications were conducted in the pen and paper mode, while the remaining 48 subjects were conducted in the CBT mode. It has been decided that from 2025, all subjects will be conducted in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
Reduced Subjects : The CUET exam will be conducted in a total of 63 subjects and from the current academic year, it will be conducted in only 37 subjects.
Uniform Exam Duration: The duration of the exam will be 60 minutes for all subjects from the current academic year, instead of 45 minutes or 60 minutes depending on the subjects.
Compulsory Questions: All 50 questions will be compulsory, unlike last year where students could choose to answer 40 questions
When choosing a subject : Students can opt for any subject from 2025 onwards to take the CUET UG exam irrespective of the subjects they have studied in Class 12
