How to Apply for Fee Relief as an TG Inter Student : The High Court directed the board to allow the fees of about 50,000 intermediate students of about 217 colleges, who could not pay the fees due to non-submission of NOC, to pay the TG Inter fees without late fee. It has also directed the board to continue the examination application process of the students and allow them to take the Intermediate public exams.
On Friday, the High Court provided relief to approximately 50,000 intermediate students from 217 colleges who had been unable to pay their examination fees due to the non-submission of the NOC. The final deadline for fee payment, which included a late fee of Rs. 2500, was Saturday. However, the court directed the Inter Board to allow these students to pay without incurring the additional late fee.
The High Court has instructed all students from unrecognized colleges to submit a bank guarantee of Rs. 2,500 each. Meanwhile, the Telangana Private Junior Colleges Management Association has filed a petition seeking exemption from the Rs. 1 lakh fine imposed by the Inter Board, despite the colleges being given a deadline to submit the NOC. Justice T. Vinodkumar oversaw the hearing, and after considering the arguments from both sides, stated that the petition had been filed on behalf of the colleges, but since the colleges affected by the fine had not approached the court themselves, the petition’s merits would also need to be evaluated.
They have agreed to pay the fine imposed by the government to permit first and second-year intermediate students in these unrecognized colleges to sit for their exams in March. Additionally, they are requesting that the late fee of Rs. 2,500 be waived for the students. The authorities have been instructed to allow the fee payment without the late charge, considering the future prospects of the students.
The colleges are required to pay the government-imposed fine by the 25th. Additionally, they have been instructed to submit a bank guarantee for the students by January 28. Once the guarantees are submitted, the colleges must proceed with the students’ exam applications and ensure they are allowed to sit for the exams in March. Both the government and the Inter Board have been directed to file responses on this matter. The hearing has been postponed to the 28th of this month. The High Court also rejected the petitioner’s lawyer’s request for an extension, who had argued that more time was needed as Saturday was the final date for students to pay their fees.
